Group Aquatic Fitness Classes
The unique environment of water can help you reduce the risk of injury and increase fitness levels in ways that cannot be accomplished with land exercise alone. In a world of impact, start thinking amphibious, water fitness classes are the best way to reduce the stress and pain from your joints which will increase your mobility and decrease the level of pain. Get liquidity back in your movement while adding aquatic cardio exercise. Lose weight and gain muscle strength at the same time with less stress. Explore how you can combine land and water exercise to stay in top form longer.
Aquatic Personal Training
American Family Fitness also provides Aquatic Personal Training if you are not into a “group” form of exercise and/or you need or want a more of a personal approach to your fitness training. Additional Fee.
US Master Swim Classes/Fitness Swim Classes
This class is geared towards the adult swimmers ages 18+ who want to achieve their fitness goals through swimming. Our coaches will lead a structured workout with lots of drills and emphasis on stroke techniques to improve time and form. Participants must be able to swim 50 yards with rotary breathing and must be able to swim 50 yards back stroke.
Group, Private, and Semi-Private Swim Lessons
American Family Fitness provides group and private swim lessons at all locations. These swim lessons follow the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” guidelines and are taught by certified American Red Cross Instructors. Additional Fee. Click here for more information on Swim Lessons.
Swim club is a program offered during the fall, winter and spring months that is designed to mimic swim team practice. Swimmers work on gaining endurance and speed by improving/learning strokes, turns, and starts. The program is limited to boys and girls ages 5 and up who meet swimming prerequisites. Additional Fee. Let your children age 4 to 13 enjoy the pool while you workout. Our clubs offer a supervised play time free of charge. Check with your location’s Kids Zone for dates and times.
Come in and have a water filled adventure on your own. Children 13 and under are not allowed to swim without an adult supervisor.
We offer several different packages for your group visits. Some may include swim lessons along with open/general swim time. This is available for members and non-members alike (not available at all locations). Please check with the front desk for details. Additional Fee.
Discover Scuba (brought to you by Richmond Dive and Travel)
This introduction to Scuba class will have you safely breathing under water, in full scuba gear, by the end of the course. All you need is your swim suite and towel. Not available at all locations. Additional Fee.
