In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course.

American Red Cross CPR/AED Training for Certification

American Family Fitness offers Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid training on a monthly basis to staff, members and the public. This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. Through an instructor-led classroom skill session you will have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate skill competency required for certification.  Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

  • Once you have completed and submitted your pre-registration form, you will receive a confirmation email from American Family Fitness.
  • Print your confirmation, attach payment and bring to the club to complete your registration.
  • Please note that due to limited space, any registration will be voided if payment is not received 48 hours after pre-registering.

Registration Fee: $75 per Member | $85 per Non-Member

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training for Certification

Learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid, and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard. Lifeguard Training Prerequisites:

  • Must be 15 years old.
  • Pass the Pre-Course Test: 300-yard swim of good breast stroke and/or freestyle, brick test (retrieving a brick in deep water), and 2-minute tread test.

Lifeguard Training: $250 per Member | $275 per Non-Member includes non-refundable pre-course test fee.

NEW!  Lifeguarding Instructor Review r.17

This in-person Instructor/Instructor Trainer review course is the required course for all Lifeguarding Instructors and Lifeguarding Instructor Trainers to re-certify. During this course, Lifeguarding Instructors and Lifeguarding Instructor Trainers will participate in an in-water practice and polish skills session with their peers and a classroom-based review of Red Cross administrative policies and procedures. Lifeguarding Instructors and Lifeguarding Instructor Trainers may also choose to attend a brief “test out” session following this course to gain a basic-level Lifeguarding certification (good for two years).  Participants must hold a current American Red Cross LGI or LGIT Certification and have completed the on-line update.

American Red Cross Babysitting for Certification

American Red Cross babysitting training can help you gain the skills you need to take care of the kids in your neighborhood when their parents can’t be with them. Created for both young babysitters ages 11 to 15, this course is designed to help participants develop leadership skills, build their business, help keep themselves and others safe, help children learn how to behave, and learn basic child care and basic first aid.

Registration fee: $85 per Member | $100 per Non-Member | $75 per Staff Child
