An Important Update from American Family Fitness

Dear AFFamily,

This has undoubtedly been the hardest week in AmFam history. As a company, we did everything possible to remain open with you and our team in mind. It was amazing to see how everyone, members and staff included, worked together to carefully follow the CDC guidelines so that we could remain open and minimize the possibility of anyone contracting or spreading COVID-19. We held on until the mandate was issued and forced us to make some difficult decisions. A few weeks ago, it would have been impossible to imagine the current situation we are living in. Dealing with social distancing and so much uncertainty, we know it has been difficult to have this outlet for stress and anxiety taken away. We are so grateful for the positive and encouraging messages from our members. 

It has been so inspiring seeing those sharing home workouts and other ideas for staying active outside of the gym!  We are so eager to reopen our doors and welcome you back, but we hope you are utilizing your 60-days free pass to Mossa Move online and enjoying your favorite classes at home! Preventative Steps to Protect Against Coronavirus

Clean your hands often

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Clean and disinfect

  • Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks. This includes disinfecting equipment before and after use with the disinfecting sprays and paper towels provided throughout the clubs.
  • If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

At American Family Fitness, the safety and well-being of our members and staff is always our top priority. As we learn more about the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure you that we are taking precautionary steps to keep you and our staff healthy by diligently disinfecting all areas of our clubs several times a day and encourage everyone to follow CDC’s everyday preventative actions as outlined below:

Stay home if you’re sick

Cover coughs and sneezes

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash.
  • Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Wear a facemask if you are sick

  • If you are sick:  You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a facemask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a facemask if they enter your room. Learn what to do if you are sick.
  • If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers.
