The pain in my hip flexor started in October of 2019.  I hoped that basic stretches would help, but then noticed that I could not get up out of a chair without pain. The pain disrupted my sleep patterns as it hurt to move from the right to the left side. I went to the doctor and he prescribed painkillers but this worried me, so my doctor said surgery was another possible treatment. He took x-rays and there was a lot of cloudiness signifying inflammation in the tissue around my right hip. I didn’t want to take painkillers or have surgery so I searched for alternatives, and that’s when I discovered Kathi’s Saturday Yin class. After 6 weeks of taking Yin Yoga with Kathi, I was able to sleep through the night with no pain. I went back to the doctor for a scheduled follow-up and the x-ray was night and day — very little cloudiness in the hip area. My doctor’s advice: keep doing what you’re doing.
