I decided in retirement that I should use the time to get back in shape. I wanted to lose weight, strengthen my core, increase my endurance — all towards being able to flyfish more comfortably and for longer periods of time. I joined American Family Fitness in January 2019; started with Noom in July. I’ve lost 25 pounds, two inches off my waist, dropped a size in both shirts and pants, and feel stronger and more fit than I have in 15 years. I work out 3-4 times each week. I started with the complimentary personal trainer to get a sense of the exercises that would be appropriate. I’ve moved from those basic exercises to circuit training and combine that with stationary bike riding. I enjoy the fitness center and look forward to every workout.
