Official Update re: Governor Northam’s Executive Order 72

Posted December 15, 2020

Dear AFFamily,

We want to thank everyone for their support after the Governor releasing updated restrictions and requirements on Thursday, December 10th. As we shared with you shortly after, fitness facilities and gyms have been mandated to reduce their group fitness class capacities from 25 participants to 9 plus the instructor. This change was made in order to help reduce the possible exposure of someone who may unknowingly have COVID-19.

In addition to the restrictions imposed on fitness facilities, according to Executive Order 72 (page 5 & 16), it is required for all persons ages 5 & up to wear a mask that properly covers the nose and mouth when outside of the home and unable to maintain at least six feet of physical distancing from others who are not family members. When sharing indoor spaces with others, masks must be worn with the exception of while exercising. Ten feet of physical distancing must also be maintained except where necessary for the physical safety of an individual.

In accordance with Governor Northam’s mandate, all guests, members, and staff, must wear a face mask when entering and exiting the facility and while moving throughout the gym. The only exception is when actively exercising. We kindly ask that everyone adhere to this policy in order to help keep the AFFamily community safe and that we may remain open and operating.

Per Governor Northam, should these policies fail to be adhered to, tighter restrictions may be mandated or the possibility of another state-wide shut down may be ordered, which could adversely impact all local businesses further.

Should you be reminded to put your face mask on, please remember we are all looking out for everyone’s safety and we ask that you please do your part.

We look forward to continuing to serve you and appreciate your cooperation in helping to make American Family Fitness a safe environment for our staff, you, and your families.

Yours in Health,

American Family Fitness

AFF Official Update 12.10.2020

Official Update re: Governor Northam’s Executive Order 72

Posted December 10, 2020

Dear AFFamily & Staff,

As many of you are aware, the Governor announced updates to the Executive Order #72 and Order of Public Health Emergency Nine that includes restrictions for fitness facilities. We are thankful that these restrictions do not prohibit us from operating all together but allow us to continue to serve our members. As a reminder, our club hours have been extended to help accommodate your workouts earlier in the morning and later in the evening.

Since COVID-19 hit, American Family Fitness has adhered to and gone above and beyond mandated safety protocols to help protect our members and staff. With that said, the restrictions that have been published today only affect our capacities for our fitness classes. Together, we will continue to comply with the current guidelines of 10ft physical distancing, disinfecting equipment, and wearing face masks when not exercising.

The Executive Order which goes into affect Monday, December 14th, mandates that our fitness classes be limited to 9 participants and 1 instructor. Our registration system will be updated to reflect these new capacity restrictions.

Thank you to your continued support and for helping us remain available to you.

Yours in Health,
American Family Fitness
